Spring Point Project is committed to improving the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes by providing a virtually unlimited supply of medical-grade, high-health pigs to serve as safe islet cell donors to people with diabetes.
In Type 1 diabetics, insulin-producing islet cells – located in the pancreas – have been destroyed. These cells are critical to our survival, as they sense blood sugar levels and release insulin to control our blood glucose.
Correcting these destroyed islet cells can be achieved by whole pancreas transplantation, or by the much less invasive transplantation of isolated islets – and that's what we provide.
We see a world without Type 1 diabetes – where monitoring and daily injections are no longer a part of anyone's life.
